Happy Holidays!

Finally, holidays!


The last term was quite an eventful one. Twas hectic but full of fun moments! While some are goin overseas for their holidays, I reckon I could use this 10-day break to catch up with my studies, get set for the upcoming exams at the same time recharge me batteries :)

My end of year exam is in a weeeeeeek's time! I think I'm doing ok with my revision with my subjects, except for physics I guess. I'm allergic to physics. Thanks Sir Isaac Newton, you and your falling apple! And to make matters worse, my first three papers are, yes you guessed it, physics papers.


Moving on...

Saturday was fun! Me, Arun and Andrew went off to PTEB during lunch to check up on our ex-PDS classmates. Well, Andrew went there to meet his *cough* girlfriend. We didn't really see them as we settled in the canteen and the lovebirds wandered around the campus but boy, you could tell he had fun =p His face was red as a tomato and he was smiling all the way back to MD. Bastard =p haha.


Anyways, Arun and I met Amali, Shahrain and Qah. Since they had classes, we went off to the canteen where we hung out with Nazz and her friends! Oh and she actually believed me when I told her that me and Arun were secret agents sent from MD to compare MD's canteen food with PTEBs'. And no I haven't told her that it was a joke =p

Next on the agenda is to surprise Izzati! =D (I like surprising people haha) Fatin came early with her home-made cookies. Twas a surprise too haha=p Obviously, I told Fatin not to tell Izzati that I was coming. So, after sending Andrew back to the school gym, we went to Kokoberry where I got Zati a shake and her all-time favourite, Crispy Crepes with peanut butter =) Then off we went to her house. Thanks Arun for the ride. Sometimes I think you still feel guilty about my knee last year lol.


And yes the rest is history haha. Had a blast! and yes she was surprised!;p Sorry for the lack of pictures though.


Last but not least, goodluck Zati for your first day in school tomorrow. I miss you! =(

Okay as of today, my attendance in MD is no longer 100%:/ haha I didn't skip school without a reason of course, was feeling terribly sick this morning. I slept from around 9-10 last night, and woke up at 10-11 earlier this morning. But between that, I think I woke up about a dozen times.


Im too lazy to type about everything that happened over the last few days. But the choir performance on saturday was, I think, pretty good =) And the bus ride was, so fun lol.
We were laughing all the way.


You should take a look at my cousin's blog, Hazim (find his link on the right hand side of this page). He posted a few videos from youtube, taken from the National Geographic Channel. Its something about global warming, and I tell you its worth watching, very interesting indeed. And downright scary. If you liked 'An Inconvenient Truth', you should like this as well =) So people, do your part in slowing down global warming. I'll do my part by farting less (yes methane is harmful to the environment lol).

Okay so yesterday was the blood donation thingy.


So let's get straight to the point, I NEARLY passed out lol. Not cause of the needle or blood or whatever. A few minutes after the needle got stuck into me, I felt mighty HUNGRY. haha and my head started spinning and my body felt like a dead lizard.


My image went quite blur and I couldnt really make out the many faces that were staring at me. I only remember the nurses' faces, wardah and zee cos they were flanking me. And camera flashes too ( yea that made me even dizzier haha). My brain went into a strike. I couldnt really remember what others were
saying to me but they had that 'are you okay?' expression on their faces.


I started to sweat like a pig, although i felt really cold. 'Dont faint dont faint dont faint' was all that I was telling myself.
The nurses even unbuttoned my shirt, what an embarassment =p
After I was done giving a pint of blood away I sort of gradually felt better. I cant recall much of what happened after that as my memory is kinda blur. I remember Wardah and Zee being really nice and helpful,
hence I came up with a theory:

When someone is on the verge of passing out, everyone around you is 1000x sweeter than they normally are =p

Anyways I dint realise that there were that many people around until people came up to me asking 'are you okay? cos you looked really pale and scary'. Thanks I appreciate your concern guys =) Walking around school was really tiring after that.

Anyways I went with zeerah and zati to DQ in the afternoon. Went to bookshops and they sent me home via the twisting roads of mata-mata haha. Anyways thanks for the ride :D

Midweek madness

I shouldnt really be blogging right now since I have a Math test tomorrow as well as a lil bit of homework due for tomorrow but since Nadzri is too lazy *cough* busy to blog that often nowadays I kinda feel obligated to post something up here more often =D haha.


Since I'm getting 'older' and my schedule is as tight as it is right now, I think by blogging more often is a neat way for me to recall back the simple everyday stuffs that I encounter every now and then. Never hurts to reminisce at times right ;)


BUT no I dont think Im gna blog everyday, maybe once every few days maybe? =) Cos in my personal opinion, its more interesting when you gather the highlights of the past several days of your life and put it in a single post rather than tell the details of your everyday life. You know, 'highlights' like how I fell beside the longkang in front of the library yesterday=p


Okay, maybe Im just too lazy to blog everyday.

ANYWAY

There's about a dozen new students in MD and one of them is a good friend of mine, Arun(aldinho) lol. Nice to have ya in one of my classes bro =)


I don't think anything that interesting happened today, ahhhhhh i cant even recall anything much that happened today! I told ya im getting older. I had classes as usual, and then choir practice. Never a dull moment during the choir practice sessions, they're all so friendly and funny man! haha. Let me see errr, oh yeah the Econs test this morning was...talur haha. I mean, its got nothing to do with the questions or anything. Blame the teacher, she went to her staffroom to get something sorted out and left us unattended for the last 15 mins of the test!


OHHH and haha I just had a haircut a few hours ago. Anyways yeah went to centrepoint to get my haircut cos Fahrul, my cousin from my mom's side, is getting engaged on Friday. And its going to be quite a big event soo...dont wana look like Tarzan on that day =) My sister is the only Muslim girl on my mom's side so she has the privilege of being the...watchu call those people who carries the 'gifts'? haha.

Got blue eyes? We know your ancestor haha

I came across this article which claims that all blue-eyed people can be traced back to one ancestor who lived near the Black Sea some 10,000 years ago. Haha I just find it really interesting and cool:


Human beings had brown eyes until a single mutation in a gene called OCA2 arose by chance in one individual, Professor Hans Eiberg from the University of Copenhagen said.

The mutation "turned off" the mechanism that produces brown melanin pigment and "diluted" brown eyes to blue.

Most likely occurring in the north-west part of the Black Sea between 6000 and 10,000 years ago, the gene was dispersed in the rapid waves of migration to northern Europe that followed the end of the last ice age.

Professor Eiberg said the finding, published in the journal Human Genetics, helped to explain why Europeans were far more likely to have blue eyes than any other ethnic grouping.

Europeans also had a far greater range of skin tones and hair colours living in the one community than the rest of the world, where people are almost uniformly dark-haired and dark-eyed.

The researchers examined mitochondrial DNA and compared the eye colour of blue-eyed people in countries as diverse as Jordan, Denmark and Turkey.

Variation in the eye colour from brown to green can all be explained by the amount of melanin in the iris, but blue-eyed individuals only have a small degree of variation in the amount of melanin in their eyes.

"They have all inherited the same switch at exactly the same spot in their DNA," the professor said.

"From this we can conclude that all blue-eyed individuals are linked to the same ancestor."

Brown-eyed individuals, by contrast, have considerable individual variation in the area of their DNA that controls melanin production.

Film stars such as "old blue eyes" Frank Sinatra, Nicole Kidman, Paul Newman, Cameron Diaz, Cate Blanchett and Daniel Craig are famed for their dazzling blue eyes, while scientists Marie Curie and Stephen Hawking also shared the prized trait.

Another engagement

It seems like all my cousins are gna get married this year hahaha. Anyways, a cousin of mine, Khairi got engaged yesterday to 
Zeemah (lurus kah?=p). I dont really know her full name so yeah lol.


Overall, it was again another laughter-filled ceremony. Always fun being around them you know. I came back home and slept really early. Slept right after isyak. Havent slept that early in ages =p So yeah I dont feel like typing a lot, since i just woke up =)  Ill just let the pictures do the talking yea? Btw I dint really take a lot of pictures since I took a lot of videos sudah=p Besides, they already had a professional photographer covering the event haha.
